What a drive-home valet actually is

A drive-home valet (sometimes called a night valet or designated-driver service) is a professional driver who operates your vehicle to take you home. It exists for the nights you drove out but shouldn't drive back — after drinks, when you're exhausted, or when you simply don't trust yourself behind the wheel.

The difference from a taxi or Grab is the whole point: your car comes with you. You're not left without transport tomorrow, and there's no second trip across the island to retrieve it.

How it works, step by step

1. Book on WhatsApp. Send us your pickup location and destination (pick a package on the pricing page and the booking comes pre-filled).
2. We confirm your fare and timing — before anyone moves. Standard is a flat $58 on weeknights, $68 on weekends.
3. A vetted driver comes to you. Every Hi Valet driver is background-checked before they take a single booking.
4. They drive you home in your own car. You hand over the keys and ride in the passenger seat. Your car is never out of your sight.
5. You're home. Your car's home. Parked where you want it, and your morning is exactly as you left it.

Is it legal for someone else to drive my car?

Yes. As the registered owner of the vehicle, you can authorise another licensed driver to operate it — exactly as you would if a family member drove your car. Every Hi Valet driver holds a valid Singapore driving licence.

A note on insurance: our drivers drive your car under your existing motor insurance policy. Most comprehensive policies in Singapore cover a driver other than the policyholder, but it's worth confirming with your insurer that yours does. The full details are in our Terms & Conditions.

Which cars can you drive?

• Everyday cars — sedans, SUVs, MPVs, hatchbacks. The Standard package.
• Automatic or manual — tell us which, and we match you with a driver experienced with your gearbox. See manual & automatic cars.
• Electric cars — Tesla, BYD, Polestar and the rest, including one-pedal driving. See EV drive-home valet.
• High-performance cars — Lamborghini, McLaren, Ferrari, R8 and the like get a driver who's handled one before, under the VIP Supercar package.

Do I need to be in the car?

Yes. For your own security, the owner or an authorised passenger rides along for the entire trip. We don't drive a car without you in it — it's your car, and it stays with you.

When can I book, and how far ahead?

We operate Monday to Saturday, 9PM–5AM (no Sunday-night shift). Availability and timing are confirmed on WhatsApp when you book. Friday and Saturday nights are our busiest, so if you know you'll need us — a company dinner, a wedding, a night out — booking earlier in the evening rather than at the end of the night gets you the smoothest pickup.
